In recent years, science has progressed in a dazzling way and recent discoveries make us see the Earth differently. For a long time it was considered that each cataclysm was an isolated phenomenon, resulting from chance. Today, scientists are discovering that links exist between these extreme events. They demonstrate that the eruption of a volcano impacts the oceans, that typhoons are likely to cause earthquakes, that melting ice is likely to awaken volcanoes.

Each time the balance of the globe threatens to break, the cataclysms intervene in relation to each other, as regulators. They are dangerous for mankind but they also express the life of the Earth, its breathing, its palpitations, its heartbeats. By penetrating their fascinating complexity, this film takes us into the intimacy of our blue planet.
